James W. Butler, Jr., CFA, CPA
Vice President and Corporate Research Director

Mr. Butler is a Vice President and Corporate Research Director, primarily responsible for corporate credit analysis and special situations. He has thirty-one years of investment industry experience and has been employed in various areas in the financial markets, since beginning his career as a feasibility analyst with Ernst & Whinney in 1980. From 1984 through 1997 Mr. Butler was an investment banker with Drexel Burnham Lambert and Kemper Securities, and from 1997 through 2002 he was Assistant Director for the statewide bond issuing authority Illinois Development Finance Authority. Mr. Butler received a B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1976 and an M.B.A. from George Washington University in 1979. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago. In addition, Mr. Butler is a Certified Public Accountant ("CPA") and an active member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Illinois CPA Society.
