Brian W. Good
Co-Head and Managing Director-Senior Portfolio Manager, Alternative Credit Strategies
Mr. Good
is Co-Head and Managing Director-Senior Portfolio Manager in the
Alternative Credit Strategies Group. Mr. Good brings extensive
knowledge of the high yield bank loan market with
twenty-two years of leveraged finance portfolio experience.
From 1998 to April 2004, Mr. Good was a Senior Vice President
at Columbia Management Group (formerly Stein, Roe and Farnham
Incorporated), where he served as Co-Portfolio Manager for
the Columbia Floating Rate Fund and Columbia Floating Rate
Advantage Fund. He was also Co-Portfolio Manager for four
structured product vehicles from their inception, including
Aurum 2002-1 Limited, Stein, Roe & Farnham CLO-I, Ltd.,
SERV 1999-1 and SERV 2000-2. The Columbia Floating Rate
Fund was the top performing fund in its Lipper category
over five years ending December 31, 2003. The Columbia Floating
Rate Advantage Fund was the top performing fund in its Lipper
category over the one and three year periods ending December
31, 2003. The Columbia Floating Rate Advantage Fund and
the Columbia Floating Rate Fund achieved a Morningstar 5-
and 4-star ranking, respectively, as ranked by three-year
return ending March 31, 2004.
Prior to joining Columbia Management in 1998, Mr. Good was an Associate Portfolio Manager for Van Kampen Investments
for the Prime Rate Income Trust in its Bank Loan Investment Group. While at Van Kampen, Mr. Good focused on senior
loan credit analysis and trading. His overall investment experience includes credit analysis, trading and distressed
investing. Mr. Good began his career at the Pilgrim Group in 1987 where he was a member of the portfolio management
team for the Pilgrim Prime Rate Trust, the first bank loan mutual fund of its kind. Mr. Good received his B.S. degree
from Pepperdine University in Business Administration.
